In the first decade of Uberiscap's existence, between 2010 and 2020, impact investing was not yet a recognised asset class. Uberiscap made direct investments in social enterprises, focusing its operating geography on Southeast Asia, particularly the greater Mekong region. Investments included Energy Access & Sustainable Smart Agriculture (SSA). Beneficiaries were rural smallholders with improved access to energy and food security. All this was made through a 20-person team based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and Europe.
In 2020, Uberiscap exited UBERIS to carry on its mission through other investment companies and fund managers. Since 2021, Uberiscap has been a shareholder in Wellers Impact. It has been instrumental in the design and management of Water Unite Impact, an innovative blended finance vehicle active in water and circular economy. Uberiscap also supports other innovative impact investment fund managers were it provides a mix of capital plus senior advisory, and/or acts as a venture partner.
